Abstract

Faba bean (Vicia faba L.) is one of the earliest domesticated food legumes in the world. It is one of the most important legume crops used as food for human consumption in developing countries and as animal feed in advanced countries. In conclusion , rhizobia transconjugants harboring recombinant genomes from Pseudomonas fluorscence and Serratia marcescens were efficient in chitinase production as a inhibitor agent against Rhizoctonia solani pathogenic fungi. These recombinants showed clear hydrolysis zone on colloidal chitin agar medium. These isolates were selected to be recommended for biotechnological application in chitinase production from recombinants had a good performance to inhibit the growth of Rhizoctonia solani if compared with the parental strains,, as well as , they were efficient in secret Indol acetic acid as a plant growth hormone. Meanwhile, the results after genome shortening showed variations in chitin hydrolysis. In addition, pulsed-field gel electrophoresis used in this study demonstrated that the DNA analysis were effective in detecting genetic variability between Rhizobium strains and their transconjugants.
