Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a program based on DAISY technology in enhancing EFL student teachers’ speaking and writing skills and attitude toward them. The participants of the study consisted of (34) third-year students at Faculty of Education, Port Said University. Instruments of the study were an EFL speaking skills checklist, an EFL writing skills checklist, an EFL speaking scoring rubric, an EFL writing scoring rubric, an EFL pre and post EFL speaking test, an EFL pre and post writing test, an EFL speaking attitude scale, an EFL writing attitude scale and a program based on DAISY technology. In this study, the one group pre post-test was used. Results of the study revealed that the study group post-tests score in both speaking and writing were significantly better than their pre-tests. Also, their attitude toward speaking and writing improved considerably. The study group’s gains in these productive skills and the enhancement in their attitude have been attributed to using the DAISY technology-based program designed and implemented by the researcher.
