Abstract

This study aims to investigate the direct and indirect impact of sustainability orientation on new product development through the mediating role of market-relating capabilities based on an empirical study on restaurants managers in Mansoura City. The thesis adopted the philosophy of positivism, the deductive approach, and the method of quantitative analysis as the research methodology. The instrument utilized for data collection was the questionnaire. Consequently, 200 usable questionnaires were collected from restaurant managers in Mansoura City with a response rate of (86%). In addition, using Warp PLS 6, path analysis was employed to explore the causal relationships among the study variables. The findings revealed that sustainability orientation has a significant direct positive effect on market-relating capabilities. Market-relating capabilities have a significant direct positive effect on new product development. The study results indicated that sustainability orientation has a significant direct positive impact on new product development. Additionally, the study demonstrated that market-relating capabilities partially mediates the relationship between sustainability orientation and new product development.
