Abstract

This thesis examined the redox behaviors at different temperatures and the cyclic voltammetry of AuCl4- ion in absence and presence of KMnO4 in 0.1 M HNO3. The antioxidant effect of Egyptian Hibiscus sabdariffa in 0.1 M KBr was studied using prepared palladium working electrode. The catalytic oxygen wave mechanism was suggested and this mechanism was supported by measuring the cyclic voltammetry of H2O2 to Hibiscus sabdariffa. The cyclic voltammetry of different concentrations of ascorbic acid as standard antioxidant was studied and compared with Hibiscus sabdariffa cyclic voltammetry data. Two methods were used for calculating Hibiscus sabdariffa antioxidant capacity. Method (1), from the cathodic peak current of main reduction peak via two electrons. Method (2), from the cathodic surface coverage data (Γc), the kinetic oxidation of sodium alginate by using KMnO4 in 0.1 M KCl was studied cyclic voltammetrically since potassium permanganate is very strong oxidizing agent, the electrochemical study for PdCl2 in absence and presence of methyl red in 0.1 M HCl by using the prepared multi wall carbon nanotube electrode doped with Ta2O5. The results obtained were used to calculate of diffusion coefficients, rate of electron transfer constant, surface coverage, amount of cathodic and anodic electricity as well as calculations of Gibbs free energies and stability constants for the interaction of the transition elements with some organic compounds to use them in studying the different behavior of some ions used that are important biologically, environmental and geometrically.
