And what is known as social networking sites appeared on the Internet, which allowed interactive communications between individuals together. ( ) Many scholars agree that we live today in the era of technology, information and social communication, which depends on the investment of modern technology in the production of information and the provision of services quickly and effectively. Whoever has the right information at the right time has the elements of power and control in a changing world that depends on science in everything. Far from random and improvisation. ( ) The media has developed and the development has extended to smart phones, where there are many different applications that are widely used by mobile phone users, especially young people, as mobile applications have become easier and images for them at any time, and they have become an important source for obtaining information and sharing news. The WhatsApp application is the third most prominent application of social networking sites, after Facebook and YouTube, as the functions of the WhatsApp application are not far from the functions of any media, and include the functions of social communication; Which remains under the umbrella of the media and its functions in general, and is represented by the news function, which is one of the most important functions of the media in general, and the educational function, which is represented by the increase of information, culture and knowledge, the function of social communication and interrelationships, and the increase of social ties on a large scale. ( ) The news function is one of the most important media functions at all, and its importance in the WhatsApp application is no less important than in the rest of the new media, as it is used to collecting and distributing information; To be within the reach of everyone and facilitate the process of adaptation and appropriate decision-making, and the richness of the WhatsApp application highlights the news function by sending the news text supported by images and video clips in real time, not to mention its ease of use and the diversity of methods available for the recipient to gain confidence in the news.
