The thesis consists of seven chapters, preceded by an introduction and ending with a conclusion. The first chapter is concerned with the study of the agricultural exploitation of the land in the rural/urban zone of Etai Al Baroud and the cropping structure, where the study of the total area, agricultural and the crop area, and cultivated winter and summer field plants and vegetables, and their geographical distribution, has shown the direction of agriculture towards field plants without vegetables and fruits, and this often contrasts with the cultivated areas surrounding cities, where some prefer to grow field plants necessary for family consumption such as wheat or benefit from them in animal food such as alfalfa, and this may explain the small size of the population of Itai And the small area of large holding. While the second chapter studied the population and its relationship to the shrinkage of the agricultural area, it contains the population mass and its growth, the movement of the incoming population to the urban rural zone of the town of Itai Al-Baroud, then the population distribution and density, and the demographic structure . The third chapter discusses the study of urbanization and the economic and social factors affecting the shrinkage of the agricultural area and includes a study of the impact of urban growth of the city, then the impact of economic factors including location and spatial relationships, the impact of transportation, and land prices, then the shift from agriculture to non-agricultural activities, followed by The impact of social factors, including the trend towards urbanization and proximity to the town, the need for an independent house, the pursuit of the neighborhood of the parents’ residence, proximity to the workplace, calmness and distance from crowding, and providing housing for children in the future, followed by a study of the impact of some other factors, including the insufficiency of some Government policies, administrative corruption and lawlessness. Then the fourth chapter reviewed a geospatial analysis of the reality of the shrinkage of the agricultural area, and was concerned with monitoring the shrinkage of the agricultural land area in the urban rural margin of Itai Al-Baroud through the processing of digital data for satellite visuals, then studying the geographical distribution of the shrinking area of agricultural land, And the spatial analysis of the shrinkage of the agricultural land area through analyzes measuring the geographic distribution of the shrinking areas, and analyzes of its spatial distribution patterns, as well as the proximity analysis. The study ended with a conclusion that resulted in the most important results that were reached and the most prominent recommendations that may benefit decision-makers in dealing with the phenomenon of shrinking agricultural land.
