Abstract

Part I. A general introduction about antimicrobial drugs, their classification, their pharmacological and mechanism of actions. Part II.A. includes conventional spectrofluorimetric simultaneous estimation of fluconazole and ofloxacin or ciprofloxacin in their separate binary laboratory prepared mixtures. Part II.B. includes a first derivative synchronous spectrofluorimetry for the simultaneous determination of vancomycin and ciprofloxacin in their laboratory prepared mixtures. Part III. includes an introduction on HPLC and green analytical chemistry for drugs separation. The aim of this part was to develop a newly validated green HPLC method for the estimation of fluconazole and ofloxacin or ciprofloxacin in their binary mixtures and its application to spiked human urine. Part IV.A. includes two accurate spectrophotometric methods (first derivative and ratio derivative) for the estimation of vancomycin and ciprofloxacin in their raw materials, laboratory prepared mixtures and biological fluids. Part IV.B. includes using two chemometric models namely, partial least squares (PLS) and artificial neural network (ANN) applying five level two factor experimental design for the estimation of vancomycin and ciprofloxacin in their laboratory prepared mixtures. Part V.A. includes green and highly sensitive spectrofluorimetric method for cefepime quantitation in raw material and pharmaceutical formulations through derivatization with fluorescamine. Part V.B. includes green and effortless spectrofluorimetric method for cefazolin quantitation in raw material and pharmaceutical formulations through quenching of acriflavine fluorescence.
