Abstract The thesis is devoted for suggesting new methods for determination of certain hydrophilic drugs, namely : Oxybutynin Hydrochloride - Trospium Chloride - Ivabradine Hydrochloride - Felodipine - Ceftriaxone Sodium - Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride – Fluconazole in raw material and in dosage preparations. The thesis is divided into five main parts : Part I. a general introduction about certain hydrophilic drugs is provided. Part II. provides chromatographilc method that allow simultaneous separation and quantification of fluconazole, moxifloxacin hydrochloride and ethyl paraben in raw material and gel dosage form. Part III. suggests micellar-emphasised simultaneous determination of ivabradine hydrochloride and felodipine using synchronous spectrofluorimetry. The method depended on estimating the two drugs using first order derivative at Δλ = 60 nm. Part VI. Section A. describes spectroscopic methods for the determination of oxybutynin hydrochloride using its reaction with eosin y. Factorial designs were used to study and optimize the experimental conditions. Part VI. Section B. provides spectroscopic methods for the determination of trospium chloride in raw material and in dosage form. The suggested methods are based on the reaction of the studied drug with erythrosine b in mild acidic medium. Part V. involves kinetic spectrophotometric method for estimating ceftriaxone in raw material and dosage forms. The method depended ion utilizing the catalytic effect of the drug on accelerating reaction between iodine and azide. The suggested methods were validated following ICH guidelines. All the results were statistically analyzed and compared with those obtained by official or comparison methods. The results showed no significant difference assuring the accuracy of the methods. |
