ADHD is the current term used by the American Psychiatric Association to describe children, adolescents, and adults; Those who display behavioral patterns of attention deficit hyperactivity. Many studies have dealt with research into problem-solving mechanisms for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and all studies indicate that problems of visual attention and attention focus are problems that affect all children with hyperactivity and attention deficit. Here, the researcher adopts activities based on selective attention in which the child walks on specific points and chooses some words and letters without the other, she introduces technology means in the presentation. It is a program that trains the mind using the method of visual focus by using a visual field to stimulate the mind based on.Study Problem:The theory of visual problems assumes that reading is a task of the visual system and therefore requires accurate spatial discrimination and fast temporary processing (Shovman & Ahissar, 2006).Dyslexia persists over time and leads to other problems related to poor reading comprehension, disorganized handwriting, forgetfulness, and poor phonological processing, thus, there are double manifestations of dyslexia with other disabilities, as it appeared with children with hyperactivity and attention deficit (Shovman & Ahissar, 2006).Therefore, the researcher adopts visual tracking tasks to improve dyslexia in children with hyperactivity and attention deficit - within the limits of the researcher’s knowledge - these tasks were not used with dyslexia problems, so that the program in the current study includes visual tracking activities for the participants by tracking specific points of a uniform color at the same time. Trace numbers like 1, 3, 5, without paying attention to 2, 4,The problem of the study can be identified in the following main question:•What is the effectiveness of the training program based on selective attention activities to reduce the severity of dyslexia in a sample of children with hyperactivity and attention deficit?Study Aims:The main objective of the study is to reveal the significance of the effectiveness of the training program based on selective attention activities to reduce the severity of dyslexia in a sample of children with hyperactivity and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.Study Importance:The importance of the study, in its theoretical and practical aspects, is clear as follows:[A] Theoretical Importance:Enriching psychological knowledge with theoretical frameworks for some psychological variables represented in ”cognitive-behavioral phenotypes, selective attention, and dyslexia”, which represents a scientific reference for academics and regressive researchers in the relevant disciplines.[B] Practical Importance:Preparing a training program based on selective attention activities to reduce the severity of dyslexia in a sample of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.Terminology of the Study:•Selective Attention:It is a state of consciousness that involves focusing on a particular aspect of a scene while ignoring other aspects and has been described as filtering the selection of information related to background stimuli for further processing (Nader Babai, 2011).Dyslexia:They are reading disorders that appear on the child later in the regular educational stage, such as the child’s inability to know the alphabet, distinguish between them, distinguish between their sounds, switch between letters in words, and delete letters from words, it is inferred from the child’s lack of pre-academic skills in pre-academic skills, or awareness and phonological awareness (Fatima Hadi, 2019: 85).•Hyperactivity and Attention Deficit:It is a disorder to describe children who show difficulty in their ability to maintain attention or control their activity level and to regulate their impulses in the context of different social systems (Mohanad Radwan, 2017: 7).In light of the importance of the study, its objectives, its problem, and the results of previous studies; The researcher formulated the following hypotheses for his current study:Study ypotheses:1-There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the control and experimental groups of children with ADHD in the post-measurement of dyslexia in its dimensions (reading performance - writing performance - mnemonic performance - understanding and comprehension - arrangement) and its total degree, in favor of the experimental group.2-There are statistically significant differences between the two measurements (pre and post) of the experimental group in dyslexia with its dimensions (reading performance - writing performance - mnemonic performance - omprehension and comprehension - arrangement) and its total degree, in favor of the post measurement. Study Limits:1-The method used in the study is quasi-experimental.2-The sample: The study sample consisted of (20) children with hyperactivity and attention deficit, with (10) children for the experimental group, and (10) children for the control group, and the age of the sample ranged between (5-7) years.3-Tools: The study is determined by the tools used in it, which are:a)The Stanford Binet Intelligence Test Arabization and Codification of Dr. Mahmoud Abul-Nile (2022).b)Child and Adolescent Behavior Rating Scale (Translation and Arabization: Abdel Raqib El Behairy, 2014).c)Dyslexia Scale (Prepared by: Adel Abdullah, 2009).d)The training program based on selective attention activities to reduce the severity of dyslexia in a sample of children with hyperactivity and attention deficit (prepared by: the researcher).Statistical Methods:The researcher used the Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon test for rank sum and z-value to find out the differences between the control and experimental groups.Study Results:1-There are statistically significant differences in the post-measurement of dyslexia in its dimensions (reading performance - writing performance - mnemonic performance - comprehension and comprehension - arrangement) and its total degree, in favor of the experimental group.2-The results concluded that the program based on selective attention activities is effective in alleviating dyslexia in children with ADHD.
