The doctoral thesis titled ”The Economics of Terrorism” examines the relationship between the economy and the phenomenon of terrorism. The thesis focuses on analyzing the economic impact of terrorist activities at the local, regional, and global levels. Theoretical and applied insights are provided to better understand the dynamics of terrorism and how resources and funds are used to support terrorist activities.The thesis includes a study of terrorist financing activities and how illegal financial networks are formed to finance terrorist groups. Mechanisms used for terrorist financing, such as money laundering, smuggling, and illicit trade, are reviewed. The study also highlights the importance of international cooperation in combating terrorist financing and enhancing financial oversight.The thesis sheds light on the impact of terrorist activities on local and regional economies. The economic consequences of terrorist threats, such as decreased investments, weakened economic growth, and their effect on the tourism industry in targeted countries, are analyzed. Effective economic and security policies to address these challenges and enhance the stability of affected economies are also reviewed.In conclusion, the thesis addresses future challenges in the field of the economics of terrorism and provides effective strategies to confront them. A comprehensive analysis of economic and security strategies is presented to promote sustainable development and mitigate terrorist threats at both local and international levels.
