Abstract

Some recent studies examined an efficient optimal design technique for AASCs to find the optimum component parameters. Response surface methodology (RSM) uses statistical and mathematical methods to describe and analyze engineering data. RSM can model complex multivariate processes, decrease experimental trials, and optimize reaction component interactions. In this study, RSM is a viable way to investigate AASCs and determine appropriate parameters that effect the performance of alkali activated slag materials with a high-volume of waste brick powder (WBP). So, this study tried to assess the effects of input (WBP content, alkali activated concentration (SS/KOH ratios), and carbon fiber content), on the process outputs or responses (1 and 28 days compressive and flexural strengths). The experiments were first designed and experimented with in a systematic manner. The design of an experiment assists in determining the target level of inputs to produce an intended outcome. Finally, the microstructure of the optimum mixtures was investigated by SEM, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, XRD, and thermogravimetric analysis analyses.
