Abstract

Green synthesized PANI, PVA-PANI conductive hydrogels, and PVA-PANI-Cu NPs conductive hydrogel nanocomposites were prepared in order to obtain a novel biodegradable, biocompatible and highly conductive hydrogel nanocomposites with enhanced physical properties (processing ability in aqueous solvents, solubility and mechanical properties). The effects of different molar ratios used in PANI preparation, concentrations of PVA used in PVA-PANI conductive hydrogels, and Cu-NPs concentrations used in PVA-PANI-Cu conductive hydrogel nanocomposites were examined. FTIR and UV-Vis. spectra were used to confirm the structure. Morphology was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Particle size of the nanoparticles was determined and the obtained results demonstrated that the average particle size of nanoparticles was about 43.2 nm. The presence of Cu-NPs in conductive hydrogel nanocomposites was confirmed by Energy Dispersive X Ray (EDX). Electrical conductivity was determined by LCR meter. Swelling test was also performed in distilled water for PVA-PANI conductive hydrogels and PVA-PANI-Cu NPs conductive hydrogel nanocomposites, and all samples demonstrated good swelling properties.”
