Abstract This work was done to study the different types of meQingioma & their CT appearances. Some CT features will be analysed e.g multiplicity of the tumor. tumor calcification and bone reaction. This study included 60 cases with intaracranial meningiomas. 36 of them were female and 24 were male and their ages ranged from 17 : 70 years. The tumor was found to be more common in the middle age of life with female predominance. CT and histopathologic diagnosis were available in all cases, skull x-ray was done in 39 cases & angiography in 6 cases and MRI in 2 cases. CT demonstrate the characteristic features of meningioma. Most meningiomas are well defined, homogenous hyperdense with moderate to intense enhancement. CT also identify associated cranial hyperostosis, bone erosion. tumor calcification and oedema. Detection of calcification depends mainlY on the pathologic nature of the tumor. Oedema that is associated with meningiomas depends mainly on the location (site) of the tumor but the size of the lesion has no valuable relation with oedema. |
