Abstract

This thesis aims mainly to build a special structure of database schema called multidimensional database based on the On Line Analytic Processing (OLAP) that enable DSS (Business intelligence) to offer global vision of worldwide groups and holdings especially in case of heterogeneous Information Systems. This kind of database structure, provide critical information to any decision level. Before building multidimensional database schema,review a historical background of the pervious work and state the problem appear in loading multidimensional database with data dynamically. Then, the basic concept needed in building multidimensional database systems are presented. Next, OLAP database analyzing and interpreting corporate data as quickly and thoroughly as possible is needed for maintaining an edge over competitors. Also, thesis suggest a proposed schema (hybrid Fact Constellation & Snowflake ) used in Steps of turnning relational to multidimensional database system to solve difficulty of loading data from a text file because Data should wrote in a specific format for example (delimit format<U+2026>etc),increase scalability without complex design, increase query performance, flexibility and updating of the data structure.
