Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate fracture toughness, hardness and microstructure of ceramic-modified glass ionomer represented by Amalgomer CR versus resin-modified glass ionomer represented by Photac-fil. The materials used in the study were tested for fracture toughness, hardness and microstructure. Based on the results of this research, the following conclusions were observed: 1.The addition of ceramic filler to the glass ionomer didn’t participate in enhancement of its fracture toughness. 2.The reinforcement of glass ionomer with ceramic filler resulted in increase of its hardness.
