Wheat, Triticum aestivm L. (Fam. Gramineae) is the most important cereal crop in Egypt. Currently, aphids (Homoptera: Aphididae) are frequently the most serious insect pests attacking wheat plants because of increased insecticide tolerance.
The aim of this study was:
* To assess the natural occurrence and seasonal abundance of cereal aphids on commercial wheat cultivars currently used in a wheat growing areas of Egypt.
* To determine the species of careal aphid primary and secondary parasitoid species and their seasonal abundances.
* To document the species of cereal aphid primary and secondary parasitoid species and their seasonal abundances.
* To document the species of weeds found in wheat fields as sources of aphid infestation.
* Laboratory based experiments were presented involving the impact of wheat cultivars on the development of the aphids R. padi and S. graminum and parasitoid species A. matricariae
